黃氏在香港浸會大學音樂及藝術系完成學士及碩士課程，期間考獲英國倫敦聖三一學院的ATCL及LTCL in Flute，並獲得優異成績。畢業後，他前往美國伯克利音樂學院進修爵士樂演奏，並自學色士風。此外，他還是SYOS色士風吹嘴和GUO長笛的藝術家。

 

作為一位全職樂手，黃氏經常活躍於香港各大演出場所，例如香港體育館、伊利沙伯體育館、香港會議展覽中心、香港大會堂及香港藝穗會等。2010年，黃氏與Rendrew Group為香港國際爵士樂節作開幕演出。2011年，他被巴西爵士樂組合Draw 2邀請作特約嘉賓，與該樂團一同巡迴台中爵士樂節。2012年，黃氏組成了拉丁爵士樂三重奏Tri-Tone，並灌錄首張大碟Try，其中歌曲為原創音樂及改編的爵士樂名曲。同年，他們獲邀請於澳門爵士樂週和香港青年爵士樂節演出。

 

除了小組合奏之外，黃氏亦參與許多知名爵士樂大樂隊，例如Patrick Lui Jazz Orchestra、Saturday Night Jazz Orchestra和Happy Go Lucky Big Band等。他現在雷柏熹組成的大樂隊5422 Collective中擔任色士風和長笛手。樂團的演出作品均為原創的新式爵士音樂，他們在香港藝穗民化節和香港國際爵士樂節中演出。2016年，他們邀請著名歌星陳潔靈在西九文化區的「自由約」音樂會上進行合作演出。

 

在流行音樂方面，黃氏曾與陳奕迅、劉德華、鄭秀文、容祖兒、黎明、MC張天賦、陳慧琳、周柏豪、林奕匡、Serrini、岑寧兒、Manson、葉巧琳、Rubberband、謝安琪、陳慧嫻、蘇永康、衛蘭、岑寧兒、馮允謙、黃耀明、黃妍、黎瑞恩、林一峰、糖妹、Laura Fygi、風車草劇團、Saturday Night Jazz Orchestra、香港兒童合唱團和香港舞蹈樂團等知名單位合作、灌錄唱片及演唱會伴奏。

 

除了演出之外，黃氏非常重視培育下一代音樂人才。他現任康文署音樂事務處及培正小學的長笛導師和學校管樂團指揮。

Kaho obtained his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Music and Fine Art from Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), where he earned distinctions in both the ATCL and LTCL flute examinations. During his university years, Kaho also self-taught and played the saxophone as his second instrument. After graduation from HKBU, he furthered his studies in jazz performance at Berklee College of Music in Boston.

 

As a Hong Kong-based musician, Kaho frequently performs in various musical scenes and venues, including the Hong Kong Coliseum, Queen Elizabeth Stadium, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), Hong Kong City Hall, and the Fringe Club, among others. In 2010, Kaho and the Renfrew Group gave an opening performance for The Hong Kong International Jazz Festival. In 2011, he was invited to play in a Brazilian jazz group called "Draw 2" as a guest performer, touring Taiwan and the 2011 Tai Chung International Jazz Festival. In 2012, Kaho formed a Latin jazz trio called "Tri-Tone" and released their debut CD album "Try", which features his own compositions and re-arranged music. They have been invited to perform in the Macau Jazz Week and The 1st Hong Kong Green Jazz Festival.

 

Aside from playing in small ensembles, Kaho has also played in numerous well-known jazz orchestras, such as the Saturday Night Jazz Orchestra and the Happy Go Lucky Big Band. He is currently the lead alto/flute in a newly formed local jazz big band conducted by Patrick Lui, known as "5422 Collective", which primarily features original pieces and adopts a more modern compositional style. The 5422 Collective was invited to perform in the 2013 Hong Kong People's Fringe Festival, the 2014 Hong Kong International Jazz Festival, and the Freespace Happening featuring Elisa Chan (陳潔靈) in 2016.

 

Over the years, Kaho has collaborated with many well-known artists, recorded albums, and accompanied concerts, including Eason Chan (陳奕迅), Andy Lau (劉德華), Sammi Cheng (鄭秀文), Joey Yung (容祖兒), Leon Lai (黎明), MC Michael Cheung (MC張天賦), Kelly Chan (陳慧琳), Pakho Chau (周柏豪), Phil Lam (林奕匡), Serrini, Yoyo Sham (岑寧兒), Manson (張進翹), Mischa (葉巧琳), Rubberband, Kay Tse (謝安琪), Priscilla Chan (陳慧嫻), William So (蘇永康), Janice Vidal (衛蘭), Yoyo Shum (岑寧兒), Jay Fung (馮允謙), Anothony Wong (黃耀明), Cath Wong (黃妍), Vivian Lai (黎瑞恩), Chet Lam (林一峰), Kandy (糖妹), Laura Fygi, Windmill Grass Theatre (風車草劇團), Saturday Night Jazz Orchestra, and the Hong Kong Children's Choir and Dance Company, among others.

 

In addition to his performing career, Kaho is also dedicated to nurturing the next generation of musicians. He currently serves as the flute instructor at the Music Office of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) and Pui Ching Primary School, as well as the conductor of the school wind band.
